The APP is doing a similar article on the Schoor-DePalma "Vision Study," as well as a tie in with the proposed PR committee that will help sell our diverse and charming town to visitors and even to out current residents - COME ON DOWN.....Town!

I'd love for there to be a way to poll shoppers and area/town residents to find out what kind of businesses they would like to see in the downtown. AKA: what is missing from the mall(s) and what would compliment the restaurants.

The mailer survey ideas are very good and should seriously be considered. Even consider live volunteers to get out there and talk to residents, both down town and house to house.
Find out about not only businesses, but events that our residents attend. What are their thoughts on both?
More importantly, do our residents know about all of what is in town? Even with the appearance of advertising, it can be surprising at what people are not aware of. This can include bringing different clicks of people together a little bit more.
Do they know about the clubs and organizations?
Go to different restaurants?
These questions are just surface questions. A good survey that samples ALL of our residents could, and likely, would reveal quite a bit of what would lead to successful marketing, integration, and participation from all of our residents.
The PR team should really think this out, with input from all relevant parties to aid and augment any positive initiatives in town.

Maybe the surveys could be put in with the water bill? That would be a very good start, but I would also want to explore other more aggresive ways of reaching people so as to reach all of the population
