BlueClaws National Anthem Try-outs on March 8th
02/19/07 - South Atlantic League (SAL) Lakewood BlueClaws
LAKEWOOD, N.J. - The BlueClaws will be holding National Anthem try-outs on Thursday March 8th, at Freehold Raceway Mall from 6 pm until 9 pm. In order to audition, all prospective singers must apply by Friday March 2nd. Applications are ONLY available at FirstEnergy Park or at the Customer Service Center at Freehold Raceway Mall. All applications must be returned in person to either location. There will be no email or fax submissions accepted.
"One of the most important traditions at any sporting event is the singing of our National Anthem. A BlueClaws game is no different," said BlueClaws General Manager Geoff Brown. "We hope to get a large number of applications, so our Anthem performances are as good as can be."
All National Anthem auditions will be performed a capella. Instruments will be permitted, but only those that do not require electricity. Singers can apply individually or as a group, but groups of 10 or more will be asked to audition at a later date.
Applications will be reviewed on a first-come-first- serve basis and performance times are subject to availability. All applicants will be notified by phone regarding a prospective audition, but applicants are not guaranteed a chance to try-out.
Decisions will not be made the day of the event, and all who audition will notified at a later date with regards to a performance at FirstEnergy Park. All judges' decisions are final.
The Lakewood BlueClaws are defending South Atlantic League Champions and open the 2007 season April 5, 2007 at FirstEnergy Park at 6:35 p.m. against the Greensboro Grasshoppers.
The BlueClaws have led the league in attendance every year, adding 448,310 fans in 2006. This season, the BlueClaws will become the fastest team in South Atlantic League and New Jersey baseball history to reach the 3 million fan attendance mark. For tickets or more information call 732-901-7000 or visit the BlueClaws website at www.BlueClaws.com.
