The Executive Board of the Freehold Rotary Club has announced two nice donations to local groups. The first is a donation of $800 to the Freehold Borough Bulldogs for the purchase of equipment and tournament fees. The Bulldogs are the only traveling baseball team in Freehold Borough serving children age 11 and 12. The Bulldogs are coached by Brian Belka. The second donation was in the amount of $500 to the Freehold Borough Educational Foundation. This money will go to the purchase of musical instruments by way of a 4-1 matching grant through the Peter J. Sharp Foundation. The FBEF had until early September to raise $3000 to qualify for the grant. That money raised will be matched by the foundation for another $12,000. With the help of the Rotary Club, the FBEF has reached its goal. The Freehold Rotary Club, founded in 1929, meets every tuesday at Basile's on Park Ave, Freehold, at 12:15 PM.
