Thoughts!!!!!
What would be better for Freehold as a whole, a 7-11 at the old Exxon location or a peaceful sitting area with grass and maybe a salute to Springsteen?? With the amount of out of town visitors that come here year after year to pay tribute to our Boss, a gathering point sure seems like it would be a good idea!!!

Mike,
First and foremost, I hope you and your family are well.
Second, all ideas... thoughts.. to me are truly golden (I make my living by encouraging people to lend their imaginations, feelings, etc.).
I am truly grooving on your Springsteen/quietude park; I have loved his music since and still the late 1960s/early 1970s (Steel Mill). Not sure, though, if that place is the best, yet in a sense....gateway...hmmmmm....
Mike, I haven't done any research -- but what have Bob Dylan's and Tom Petty's and maybe even Don Henley's hometowns done? Are these towns comparable in size ... there's something here, for sure...and yet, too, what does Bruce himself think/feel -- and does that count? We all know this man is VERY humble and would avert his eyes and blush when asked about this honor, so, with that in mind, how does a town give a permanent space to someone who is so shy of it?
And yet, the man deserves it as you said. So ... how to proceed with some permanent recognition he, himself, could be proud of?
That said, I'm still not sure if that old gas station property would be the best use of that. I still like the idea of some commerce ... maybe offices for a new publishing company! (my fixation...) Or a museum such as a Smithsonian outpost, or best yet -- A USED BOOK STORE! I'll be in heaven...
