Its finally nice to see a true 2nd party making some noise for Freehold. Its not a matter of the GOP being better or vice verse, its just healthy for the positive growth of the Boro. In recent years, a solid effort was made by the Boro GOP, but this year they certainly are making alot of positive noise. We all agree, Mr Higgins will be an excellent choice for mayor. He seems to be more of a gentlemen then a politician! It will be interesting too see if residents have had enough of the ego filled Schnurr, will they say its time for a change? Hopefully residents will see its time for the puppets to be removed from council and let new positive blood come on board. I'm not saying that all on council are puppets but I certainly am saying Geo is!
Like I said, Mr Higgins is a wonderful choice! IMHO, he will serve the Boro well and make all residents, either "R" or "D" proud! I just hope people make a change for fresh new positive people on council, not the same old ego driven one thats up there right now!
Hats off to the NEW blood GOP and best of luck to them!

Mike, Don't worry about George, he doesn't stand a prayer. He will lose. That aside, the local republicans are looking really good this year. I know you won't be disappointed and we will see one heck of a race. I am very happy with much of what I have seen so far and I know the best is yet to come. Marianne Earle and Don Clayton are two great picks.

The June 7th reorganization of the Freehold Borough Republican Club went very well. The meeting opened with Councilman John Newman leading the attendees in the pledge of allegiance. The councilman then read the purpose, stated from the bylaws, before introducing Mr. David Giffler.
Mr. Giffler greeted the group and proceeded to name the list of nominated officers for the Freehold Borough Republican Club. The floor was opened for other nominations, but none were made. Councilman Newman asked for an approval of the nominations, to which there were no objections or abstentions.
Mike Alagna is the new Republican Club president. Samantha Daesener is the new secretary and Mike Lichardi is the new treasurer. President Alagna then described the difference between the club and the actual campaign as well as plans to continue growing the club. With the club having been reestablished in past years, this year does have many new faces interested in and supporting the club efforts. The campaign itself was discussed and optimism was very high for the republican this year. Statistically, this is a good year.
Borough Republican candidates Marianne Earle and Don Clayton to to the floor and both had no problem fielding questions from people in the audience. Many issues were discussed and the candidates had no problem demonstrating that they have a grasp on the issues as well as solutions.
After the new officers were announced and the candidates spoke, the formal meeting was adjourned and a social gathering commenced with refreshments and dessert provided.
