This is the last week to purchase tickets for the inaugural event for the newly formed Freehold Borough Arts Council (FBAC). On February 25th Opera singer Gregory Sheppard will enchant the audience with a variety of songs. Mr. Sheppard will be accompanied by pianist Byron Sean. Ticket prices for this event are $25 for regular tickets, Seniors $15, and students $5. This performance is in honor of Black History month. Also included in this evening will be art work on display, donated from the private collection of a Freehold Borough resident. This show is is to be held in St. Peter's Church located at 33 Throckmorton, Freehold Borough. Be sure to visit the FBAC website or facebook page to see the video arts moments featuring Gregory Sheppard. These short videos will be a continued feature on the FBAC sites, highlighting many fine artists. Also available that night will be information on the March 11th 2011 event planned by FBAC. This event is a film benefit showing of a comedy based on the best selling book "Round Ireland with a fridge" by Tony Hawks. This film is being shown in America for its first time at 7pm in the American Hotel on 18-20 East Main Street in Freehold Borough. Ticket prices will be $15. The novel has been described as “a classic travel adventure in the tradition of Bill Bryson with a dash of Dave Barry.” The New York Times Book Review called it a "ridiculous and sublime example of the high-concept travel book ... and the sweet bottom line is that anything that brings people together and shows them this good of a time isn't stupid at all." For more information on both events and to make reservations or purchase tickets, please visit FBAC on facebook ( Freehold Borough Arts Council (FBAC )) or visit our blog at freeholdboroughartscouncil.blogspot.com/ The above events are made possible through the generous donations from several individuals. The Freehold Borough Arts Council would like to thank its many generous supporters who have made these events possible. FBAC operates and relies on donations and membership fees as we continue to inspire, champion and provide arts in Freehold Borough. Donors and sponsors are very welcome.
