McGeehan, who is the community relations coordinator of the CentraState Healthcare System, Freehold Township, said the alliance, which is composed of 26 members and serves Freehold Borough and Freehold Township, is having difficulty running its meetings.
A list provided by McGeehan indicates the following individuals are current members of the alliance: Margaret Jahn, program director; Jennifer Marziale, coordinator; John McGeehan, chairman; Patrick Accisano, Kathleen Andrejco, Eva Carella, Jayne Carr, Joseph Colon, Frank Dalotto, Margaret Jahn, Thomas Kilduff, Natalie Kober-Dallenbach, Gary Krumbine, Robert McGirr, Patricia Medley, Richard Pezzullo, Angelica Raiten, Maryann Roper, Mitchell Roth, Ernest Schriefer, Ahmed Siddig, Jaye Sims, John Soviero and Christina Zarnowski.
McGeehan told Freehold Borough officials some members have stopped attending meetings and some members have moved away without notifying the alliance.
“We want to try to clean up the roster,” he said. “We have no authority to remove them from the roster since they were appointed by the municipalities they serve. We are asking the council to review the roster and to eliminate those members who are no longer participating, or who have moved away. The council has to appoint new members. We have no control over that.”
While this entire article is a good read, the above parts remind me of the recent changes to the borough Citizen Service act. This is a good example of why it was right for the council to finally adopt it. There is nothing here that is punitive, the concern that was originally expressed. This is a matter of protecting the integrity of this alliance, which like too may committees, is struggling.
