Several local residents have reported seeing a black squirrel in the borough. One report comes from a mom and her three kids at Veterans park, also backed up by another resident. Another resident reports seeing the little critter near Brookwood and Glendale.
On a personal note, I saw one about a year ago in Millstone.
Black squirrels have been in Princeton for quite a long time. They are not native to NJ and are an introduced species tha is native in other parts of the country.
On another note, I heard a rumor, and for now it is just that, of a coyote sighting in the Lake Topanemus area. That would be very possible as they are in the township. residents should take proper precautions and watch over small children and pets.
