newstranscript.gmnews.com/news/2010-10-13/Front_Page/Mellon_Farms_market_plans_move_to_Silverts_buildin.htmlVery good read, here are some highlights... The Freehold Borough Historic PreservationAdvisory Commission recently heard details of the Mellon Farms proposal and gave the idea a thumbs up.................. ................ Commission member Jeff Friedman said he like the proposed changes for the building. He suggested a chain link fence and placing decorative trim on the building. “Urban design states there is a negative impact with a blank wall,” Friedman said. He suggested that the owner have some artwork or murals or some type of design painted on the wall. He said that would add a feeling of community to the building. It was also suggested that shutters be placed on the windows to break up the building................

Just to clairify the commission and myself suggested something other than a chain link fence for the dumpster/loading zone. We requested a masonary wall insted of a fences but for various reasons we accepted a white wood like plastic fence to sheld the dumpsters. The planning board may insist on a masonary wall but the HPC has its limits.
