My Adoring Freehold Public
There is an uncomfortable silence on this board about the most important event of the year in Freehold.
I was visiting friends today in the area and there is news about it all over the place.
The borough is buzzing with anticipation.
When I lived in the borough it was my favorite event of the year.
Muddled Mod Brian knows perfectly well about what I am writing.
Who will break the silence?

Casual! I missed your wit and insights! I was a bit concerned, hoping all is well with you.
Allow me to guess - you are mentioning the Latino Festival, with attendant film festival next weekend.

Just an observation, take a look at the APP web site comments about the LLA festival. www.app.com/comments/article/20100929/NEWS/9280325/Latino-Festival-returns-in-FreeholdAnd people complain about this web site?! Ha Ha HA! Rich, Lisa and I would never allow some of that on this site. While this site has a couple of not so good moments, for the most part we have always been on the high road. When this site has higher standards than a local paper, that says a lot and that we have been doing something right.

Muddled Mod Brian:
I was at the Latino Festival and it was absolutely fantastic.
I saw a few acts, but my favorite were the mariachi. They were really loud. The lead singer had a great voice and I thought it was perfect justice that the strains of Mariachi could be heard throughout the town. The parking lot was packed.
It made me proud to be an American and a former resident of Freehold Borough -- the Brown People's Paradise.
I met a Latina selling real estate and she told me record numbers of Latinos are buying homes in the borough. It makes me want to move back in -- as soon as I get my psych degree this is the place I want to be.
This misbegotten borough has come a long way since a fearless band of advocates stood up to the machine and hostiles like Brian and the Kelso dude.
Justice triumphed over hate.
The Latino Festival Lives ON!!!!

I did not see the flamenco dancers this year. I will check in manana to see what the Brian dude has written. Casually Expectant CR, I promised you a little surprise. The political, left wing movement that you support has certainly made great progress in this town. Regardless of what side people believe in there is no denying that. In a sense, the LLA festival is a bit of an annual celebration of the open borders victories in this town. We really should call it New Freehold day since Olde Freehold day continues to fall flat. Anyway, CR, I know you paid quite a bit of attention in the past to the tensions that occurred in this town. AS I predicted, there is a peaceful wedded bliss between Mayor Mike for life and the people he went head to head with not that long ago. The following pictures are found on several web sites, so they are nothing ground breaking, but I dedicated them to you CR. Get out the tissues, it will bring tears of joy to your eyes. PS- these pics are a couple years old

Brian,
When I read all the above comments I was very confused.....Didnt you say you werent getting political this year? Seems to me all the comments and the post above your pictures are shots at our local dems in office? Is that not being political?
Maybe you should show pictures of John Newman or ted to keep it fair as you often claim to be!

Rich, did you make it to the event? Alas -- I was in La Freehola on October 2. I drove up for a party at 4 pm, and left at 8pm. Tough day. I celebrated my dad's 85th birthday -- and did not have time to step out to the festival.

Freehold Dudes and Dudettes:
It is a sad state of affairs when someone [Muddled Mod Brian] posts some pictures of public officials posing with Brown People and Mike Roseel dude thinks it is taking a political position.
It is as if posing with Brown People were bad politics.
Let me state for the record -- I LOVE BROWN PEOPLE
Everyone repeat after me -- I LOVE BROWN PEOPLE
I LOVE BROWN PEOPLE AND I DO NOT CARE WHO KNOWS ITS
BROWN PEOPLE HAVE CONTRIBUTED A LOT TO THIS SOCIETY
Can you write that Mike Roseel dude? How about Muddled Brian? How about the Kelso dude? I bet the Kelso dude has a Brown housekeeper.
I did appreciate Brian Dude posting the pictures, but I never thought they would be interpreted to have a political meaning.

Casually Thinking in BROWNActually -- I love all colored people -- not just brown. I love them more when they are here legally. I do not have a house keeper or a lawn service. Do you know why? Every company I called refused to provide me with a letter stating that it has verified the legal status of any employee sent to my home. (20 plus companies) That's odd I tell them, as federal law requires it! So -- I do the jobs American's won't do. And, my property looks fabulous. Casually hoping you embrace all colors of the rainbow -- and develop a passion for the law.

Richard! Don't sell yourself short. Being the same age (your b-day is 'round the corner!), we grew up, thankfully, with outstanding work ethics. We are, I believe the tail end, the last generation, that understands that if you want to accomplish something, work hard and work honestly. It's great you maintain your own lawn, and, I would venture as a kid, you had chores to do, and this is simply an extension of how well your parents taught you the merits of good hard work.
I am so dang thankful I am NOT younger! I'd be a spoiled, wrongly entitled mess.

Oh yea dude, Miller and his add water and stir running mate still havent excepted the debate yet, guess there upset because this years debate was going to be fair!

I actually tried to be careful becasue this tiem of the year people get nutty and misinterpret things. Before we know it, there will be rumors of a conspiricy. Look at this for what it is, playful banter between me and CR. It is a bit of a Kumbaya, peace in the borough type thing. CR has a long history on this site. I like these photos and thought it was nice of you to post them, Brian. I especially like the one with Frank, Marc and Juan because the placement of the red balloon really makes the shot.
This year's event was packed and quite festive. I think that for people coming into downtown or driving through, the very appearance of a festival is one that in and of itself is attractive; it gives the message that the town is alive and bustling with fun things to do, even if they didnt' know what it was about.

Muddled Mod Brian:
I resent the accusation that I am a clown. A quick review of your archives will indicate that I have used humor to bring up some of the most serious issues ever raised on this website.
Everyone agrees that my work in exposing Councilman Levine dude in those dark bygone days was crucial in bringing justice to the borough.
And, who can forget the time I ran against Miller and received more votes than him -- and no one even knows who I am.
Here are your offensive remarks: Look at this for what it is, playful banter between me and CR. It is a bit of a Kumbaya, peace in the borough type thing. CR has a long history on this site. He/she/it is not a serious paricipant, but a constant clown. We just have our fun.
casually singing kumbaya
What you fail to understand Muddled Mod is that I use humor to raise some serious points.
Another truth is you have always wanted to be Casual. Secretly you want to be me. And, who can blame you?
Casual always gets the girl. I fear our Muddled Mod has had limited success in this area.
Brown People Like Casual. I doubt the same can be said for our muddled Mod. In fact, white folks love me too, particularly those with a social conscience.
Alas, Brian dude there is only one Casual and he is not you.
The last serious point was that Mike Roseel dude is under the impression that just showing Mayor Mike for Life with Brown People hurts the electoral chances of the Democrats.
This would be sad if it were true.
Let me also take a moment to address Kelso dude on the Brown People Issue. It is long past the time when we should accuse them of being "illegal" etc... The fact is they have come here seeking economic opportunity because things are bad in their homelands. All the walls you propose to build and all the laws you propose to pass will not stop them from coming if the economic injustice in their countries -- often fueled by US coprorations and foreign policy is not addressed.

Mike Roseel Dude:
I agree with you on the Ted "Never Gonna Be Councilman" Miller candidacy. All he ever did when he ran the last half dozen times was knock the Brown People.
I am sure the people are tired of Mayor Mike for Life and his shenanigans but given the choices -- who else can they vote for?
