Long time readers may recall that last year, the first year of the Neighborhood Pride Committee's garden, it was reported here that a local woman named Antonia ( also a very welcomed registered site participant here) won several ribbons at the County Fair Home and Garden competition.
Well dear readers, our local gardening goddess did it again! Antonia won a total of five ribbons. Three first place, one second and one third. Three of those ribbons were for produce she grew in the community garden.
People may also recall that last year her plot was vandalized. In a strong show of support, many people came out and spruced her plot and the general garden up. One person even got her replacement ribbons from the county. All of this is a sign of the goodness of our town and its people. Lets hope that the bottom feeder who did tha last year got the message and allows all of the town to enjoy the success of the garden.
I did visit today for my first time this year. The garden is looking really good. I took some pictures, but from outside the fence. I had hoped to get pictures of Antonia's plot and ribbons on display, but was unable.
Enjoy the pictures for now, and join me in wishing Antonia the best for a job well done. ( pictures will be posted soon. )
