In the council meeting last night, there was one interesting item on the agenda. Juan Reyes resigned from the Human Relations Committee. This item was read without any explanation.
Reyes appointment is one that has been severely questioned on this site and to the failing of local papers, not reported there. The concerns and posts on this site have never been about Reyes himself, but questions directed at the governing body.
That appointment was made under bad circumstances and for the wrong reasons. The governing body buckled to outside interest several years ago and made this appointment. This site figured out very quickly that Reyes associates with outside interests that have hurt our town and have no care for our town. It was also found out by this site that Reyes does not live here, but is a resident of Howell.
It was very strongly suspected, by this sites participants, that Reyes is an illegal alien. That was proven recently when Reyes admitted that to the APP during a rally on the front steps of the Hall of records.
Many of these facts came out years ago and yet, the governing body continued to appoint a person who got to that committee via bullying tactics from outside interlopers. For the record, I do consider Casa Freehold an outside group. When ever a person from that group is interviewed, that person usually does not live in the borough. This group has engaged in a lot of hurt and character assassination of the good people of this town.
The question remains- why was that decision made and then made again? Who thought that was a good idea and why? [/color]
If that void is to be filled on the Human Relations Committee, is it too hard to ask the council to find someone who lives in town, cares about the town, and does not associate with outside radical interests? And by the way, we do have legal immigrants in this town. How about getting one of them to serve? Do we really need to approach hurtful groups for assistance?
I write this for the good of the HRC. It is to represent our town and in doing so, it is OUR committee. I want to See the integrity of that committed protected so that the good people who are there can do the best they can.
Because it is OUR committee, we the residents of the borough have every right and responsibility to ask these questions. Those of us who did have never been wrong for doing so. What has been wrong is the lack of PUBLIC , DECENT, AND HONEST answers.
Why did Juan resign? Was his outing himself the catalyst? Is that what it took?
