I think this is a terrific letter and I agree with the writer completely. The last line in the letter is a very good point. We see the same pattern everywhere. People will comment heavily on bad things, but never enough on the good. It is kind of like this post, it seams too often that it is up to me to get the positive things onto this site.

Resident commends positive efforts of Freehold employees
Having been a Freehold Borough resident for over 10 years now, I have had the opportunity to rely on the police force for various requests. Thankfully most were of a non-emergency nature. Not only have the police responded quickly to my calls, but their professional behavior has always been exemplary. Nothing has fallen through the cracks, even when multiple parties were involved.
With so much bad media about the problems many New Jersey towns are experiencing, I wanted to express my gratitude to the Freehold Borough employees who have made my life much less complicated.
Given the budget cuts in our state and borough, it is a comfort to know that public service has not been sacrificed in our small town. I would like to commend the borough police and public works staff who recently worked together to replace our “damagedbeyond repair” street sign soon after my call.
It is my hope that residents write similar letters of praise when they see good work. It is unfortunate that much effort is put into writing letters of complaint while few write to praise a job well done.
