Just wanted to say this is my favorite weekend of the year. We have our amazing parade, which is legendary! Great to see all our volunteers get a minute to shine in this parade! Much respect to all the men and women who fought and or died for America! In the world we live in right now, its important to keep our American Spirit alive and well!
I wish everyone on here a safe and Happy Memorial Day Weekend! God Bless America!

Visitation to this site always dies down on holiday week ends, so I too want to wish everybody a safe and good Memorial day. With all the festivities, do not forget the veterans.
And like all borough-ites, I look very forward to the parade which I consider one of the best events in town.

I am so grateful. Lauren, your pictures are always very good. I look forward to seeing them. As always, I will be looking for parade pictures for the front pages of this site. The parade itself was very good, well done, and a moving tribute to the men and women we honor.

I have been getting pictures from a number of readers to post on the main site. It will take me a few days to get them posted, but it will be worth the wait for this nice collection of parade pictures from our residents.

Lauren, your photos are truly glorious. Your composition is outstanding. And thanks for showing us your photos.
Please keep sharing!
They (whoever "they" were initially) say that a picture is worth 1,000 words -- I say pictures are worth endless -- or even no -- words. They speak for themselves; yours do. Keep it up!

Lauren, Thanks for the vids, they are a really nice addition. I will be updating the main pages soon and I will look into adding the vids you posted. Here is the APP write up: www.app.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=20105310321In Freehold, the 136th annual Memorial Day Parade drew an estimated 8,000-10,000 people, including nearly 1,000 marchers, according to Memorial Day Parade Committee chair Alice McCobb. The state's oldest annual Memorial Day Parade began with a solemn service of reflection at Elks Point, at the intersection of routes 79 and 537, followed by a horse-drawn procession of a casket draped in the American flag and flanked by service members. "We always come to watch our pop-pop march," said 4-year-old Michael Zamorski from the sidewalk on Main Street. Zamorski's grandfather, Navy Petty Officer Third Class Daniel Zamorski, marched with members of the Freehold VFW in the parade. Marine Corps veteran Ted Adamko, 82, watched the parade from the side of the road for the first time in 55 years. Adamko said he's watched the parade since born in the original Freehold Hospital in 1928, and looks forward to it every year. "It was time for me to stop marching," he said. "It's much better watching it over here in the shade."
