I believe that from May 24th until June 6th is the annual click it or ticket campaign that the borough police participate in. Beyond that seat belt laws, motorists can expect all motor vehicle laws to be better enforced.
I know that some people have mentioned to me that there appears to be a heavier police presence on Main Street. I have seen it too, and at times there will be cops on foot pulling people over for various infractions.
Hopefully this post and the "Click it or Ticket" campaign can serve as a warning for Borough residents, and more importantly, as a reminder to drive safe. Driving safe is something we should do all year round- not just when the cops are looking.
Also, I hope that borough residents read this so that they are smart and do not get pulled over. That way the police can concentrate on pulling over the New Yorkers driving through town. You can tell who the New Yorkers are without even looking at their plates. They are the ones who do not know what a blinker or a lane is. ;D
