Now that spring is almost here, we’d like to remind you that . . . . .
The Recreation Commission will sponsor the annual, free Easter Egg Hunt for Borough children 2-12 years old on Saturday, April 3rd at the St. Rose of Lima playground at 10:00a.m. sharp. The Easter Bunny will be our special guest, and everyone will have a chance to collect eggs and possibly win a prize!
Spring brush collection will begin on Tuesday, April 6th and will continue until April 16th. Please note there will be no brush collection once leaf pickup begins.
The Health Dept. is sponsoring a free rabies clinic for Borough residents and non-residents alike on Saturday, April 17th from 10-11 a.m. at the fire house. Cats must be in carriers, and dogs must be leashed. No paperwork is required.
Leaf collection will commence on Monday, April 19th and will continue until all leaves have been collected. Leaves may be raked into loose piles at the curb, or they may be placed in clear plastic bags.
Spring hydrant flushing will be conducted on Tuesday, April 20th starting at 8:00 a.m. and willl continue until all flushing has been completed. You may notice a slight discoloration of the water while the process is underway. The discoloration is not harmful, and it will clear up if you allow the water to run for a few extra minutes.
This summer, World Changers will again return to the Borough to assist residents in making repairs to their property. Applications are available at Borough Hall. The deadline for applying for the program is May 1st. Please call 732 462-7057 for more information.
The Senior Citizens’ Housing Corp., in conjunction with the Borough of Freehold, is pleased to offer free Senior Citizens’ Transportation for seniors and disabled persons residing in the Borough. Transportation is available Monday through Friday, to and from medical appointments, CentraState Medical Center, local grocery stores, WalMart, and the Freehold Raceway Mall. Please call 732 431-7599 for details.
The Borough will continue to keep you updated regarding current events on a regular basis, and we thank you for participating in our new Email Alert Notification Program
