It is that time of year again when we will see the Memorial Day Parade Committee in action as they prepare our town for the best parade in the region, if not the county. As always, the parade committee is seeking volunteers. They are looking for approximately 100 volunteers this year to help with the unit identification (holding the signs in the parade), unit staging area and ending area. Here are the details for the day of the event: What: 136th Annual Freehold Memorial Day Parade When: Monday, May 31, 2010 Volunteers should report by 9:00 am Where: Corner of Brinckerhoff Ave. and West Main Street (In front of First Presbyterian Church) Interested people should first contact Eric Salomon, the Volunteer Coordinator for Freehold Memorial Day Parade Committee. He can be reached at (732) 610-5211 or email eric.salomon@knights.ucf.edu And of course, for those who would rather watch the parade and still want to help, please do not forget the need for donations. It does cost money to bring in some of the great performers that we have seen in the past. Keep a close eye out for future events that raise funds for the parade. Residents can also keep an eye on the Memorial Day Parade committees web site. www.freeholdmemorialdayparade.com.
