Take a look at this link to the borough web site: www.freeholdboro.org/egovernment.htm MEETING AGENDAS MEETING DATES ORDINANCES MINUTES ADMINISTRATIVE CODE It looks like the site is being upgrades with some very nice features. I understand that there will also be e- news alerts on top of what is found above. None of these ideas are reinventing the wheel and many people have discussed these things as being a valuable part of the borough web site. Either way, this is very good to see and is progress. It is clear that these features are new to the site, so it will be great to watch them get filled up with info that we can all learn from.

www.app.com/article/20100110/NEWS/1100354/1285/LOCAL09/Freehold+to+issue+e-mail+alerts+to+residentsFreehold to issue e-mail alerts to residents By KIM PREDHAM • FREEHOLD BUREAU • January 10, 2010 FREEHOLD — Can't remember the leaf pickup schedule? Wish you knew when Main Street would be clogged with traffic? Borough officials want to help. Homeowners will receive a card in their next water bill that will let them sign up for e-mail alerts from the borough. The alerts will keep residents up to date on issues like road repairs, service dates and reminders when downtown events may create heavier traffic. Homeowners who want to get the alerts can either mail in or drop off the cards at Borough Hall, 51 W. Main St. They can also call Borough Hall at 732-462-4200. The borough's Web site, www.freeholdboro.org will soon feature an e-mail-blast signup as well. Residents' e-mail addresses will be kept confidential and will not be shared with any business, organization or entity for marketing purposes, according to borough officials. Homeowners also do not have to provide their names and home addresses

I mentioned in another thread that the governing body is each getting public email addresses. Here is the email fro Council President Jaye Sims.
jsims@freeholdboro.org
Jaye mentioned that I could post this and if residents have suggestions, concerns or complaints, feel free to email him.
I will post other council emails as they become available to me.

Here is councilman Newman's email:
jnewman@freeholdboro.org
I believe each member of the governing body is their first initial and their last name with the borough email service.
One thing I forgot to mention in the last post. I mentioned that residents can send complaints, concerns and suggestions. I was asked to mention that. I want to add one more thing.
Don't forget to email the governing body, police etc. compliments when you believe it is earned. It is human nature for people to reach out when they are not happy, but too often people forget to pass along compliments too. It is equally important to take the time to do that.
