In another thread it was mentioned about all of the work going on at the former Goodfella's location. For the past several months San Marzano has been open in its place.
The place reminds me a lot of Goodfella's when it first opened.
(In my opinion Goodfella's went down hill after a certain point) San Marzano is fairly typical Italian food. The wife and I have become regulars there for a few reasons. The food is good, portions are large, and the price is cheap. The latter is important considering a tight budget. The people are very friendly and service is good.
Once while we were in there, we ran into one of our good council members. He too gives the place a thumbs up. With the endorsement of a councilman, how can you go wrong?
Check the place out if you have not been there, it is a nice addition to the variety of places we have to eat at in Freehold Borough.
