From a reliable source I have learned that the community garden was vandalized over the weekend.
Some degenerate bottom feeder actually cut a hole in the fence to gain access to the site. Several plots were vandalized, including the award wining plots of Antonia Millar and Casey Surgent.
Clearly this malicious act was premeditated. Community support for all of our gardeners will be strong and the garden will bounce back. The first year of this project was too successful to allow some dirt bag to stop it.

Just a little update......
I ran into Antonia today. Hers and Casey's plot was the only one tangeld with. One of the ribbons they had won at the county fair was also stolen.
Apparently, a few nights before this incident, the lock and chain to the community garden had been cut. A police report has been filed. If anyone has information tha could lead to the arrest of who did this please call the police and help out.

Update..... Tomorrow morning there will be some people showing up at the community garden to plant a few thigns and spruce it up after being vandalized. Councilman Le Vine has asked people to show up around nine thirty. This will send the message to the bottom feeders that the community is strong and will not allow this type of behavior to deter people from taking pride in theri town.

Yesterday was not too bad. Councilman Le Vine and Councilwoman Shutzer did show up with a couple of other people. Some brought in some mums to beautify the community garden as well as Antonia and Casey's plots.
I also understand the resident Ted Miller coordinated with the Board of Freeholders to replace the ribbon that was stolen.
