Freehold to host townwide yard sale
FREEHOLD — The Freehold Borough Recreation Commission is seeking resident participants for a townwide yard sale to be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Oct. 3.
To encourage the maximum number of yard (garage) sales within the town limits on that day, the borough will waive any of the normal fees or permits required.
A map of participants and their wares will be made available to shoppers prior to and on the day of the event. It is planned that the map will also include coupons for local businesses and eateries.
Last year, in its first townwide yard sale, Freehold hosted more than 125 resident vendors throughout the borough and attracted hundreds of shoppers to the area, according to a press release.
Prospective participants are asked to register for the event no later than Sept. 15 by providing their name, street address, telephone number, email address and short list of yard sale items (15 words or less).
Registrations will be accepted by mail to Freehold Municipal Building, 51 West Main Street, Freehold NJ 07728, attention: Yard Sale, or via email at pruegger@freeholdborough. org. Signs will be provided to the first 100 registered participants prior to the event.
