OK, so this isn't Freehold related. But this is a major loss of a very old landmark. Its as if the American Hotel burned down again. That would be awful. For those of you who never visited the Clarcksburg Inn, you really missed out.

MILLSTONE — The fire that broke out early this morning at the Clarksburg Inn has been extinguished, but it destroyed the historic restaurant, state police said.
No one was injured in the fire, which was reported at 5:37 a.m.
State Police Lt. Asa Anderson said fire crews are expected to remain at the scene for most of the day, handling clean-up.
He said the building appears to be a total loss.
The restaurant's bar room was more than 100 years old and was once a stagecoach stop.
As is standard, the State Police Arson and Bomb Unit and the Monmouth County
Prosecutor's Office are handling the investigation into the cause of the blaze.
