Yes, I know, Lonegan will probably lose. That is a shame. At a time when the GOP is trying to redefine itself, there is a real need to get back to the roots of the party. The failure of the GOP at all levels to do so is exactly why they have lost much of their base.
Lonegan is a true conservative. That is what the GOP needs. Christie is too middle of the road. I think of what Mr. Miyagi said in the Karate Kid movie... " middle of the road.. squashed like grape. "
I have far more confidence that Lonegan will take on our problems like Abbot, COAH, taxes, bloated wasteful government and so on. Some people on this site have mentioned that Lonegan got caught hiring illegal aliens. That is a scandal he will survive when compared to the multitude of scandals associated with Comrade Corzine.
I do not have faith that Cristie will have enough courage to deal with the above issues effectively.
When I think of middle the road Chris Cristie, I cannot help to think of our last Republican governor Christie Whitman. We do not need a repeat of that, she came in with a sonic boom and went our with a piff. Yes, Whitman was far better that McGreevey and Corzine, but if Chris Cristie is anything like her, he will be a one term governor.
Who ever wins, the party must unite and work hard to beat Cozine. Between Corzine and McGreevey, our state cannot handle another four years of Democrat control. And if the GOP does win in November, they had better get their act together.
