District 12 Service Fair Hosted by 12th District Legislators to Assist All NJ Residents in These Difficult TimesNew Jersey’s own District 12 Legislators realize the gravity of the economic and social woes plaguing thousands across the Garden State. And that is why Senator Jennifer Beck, Assemblyman Declan O’Scanlon and Assemblywoman Caroline Casagrande enthusiastically invite all New Jersey residents to a Services Fair on April 25th at the Freehold Township Senior Center.
During these trying and taxing times, finding the right answers or the proper assistance can be difficult. Many are searching for suitable programs or agencies that can supply them with the appropriate advice and adequate support necessary to ameliorate their predicaments.
Though New Jersey hosts a multitude of agencies and organizations dedicated to serving the greater community, knowing where to turn for help can be a difficult task. Therefore, Beck, O’Scanlon and Casagrande have invited a diverse group of these associations to Central Jersey so residents can seek the answers, connections, and assistance they so desperately need.
In addition to a large number of service organizations, charitable associations will be on hand to collect donations on behalf of those in need.
“On March 25, 2009, the NJ Department of Labor and Workforce Development released new statistics which show that we are now facing an 8.8 percent unemployment rate in the State. Given the severity of this crisis, complacency is not an option. We elected officials have been charged to serve the public, and I feel it is our duty to do just that by making residents aware of the programs available to them in this onerous climate,” said Senator Jennifer Beck.
Obviously, the economic crisis is on the forefront of New Jersey citizens’ minds. However, the Fair will feature a wide-reaching field of service organizations. Participating agencies include, but are not limited to: the New Jersey Housing Mortgage Finance Agency, NJ Shares, the Foodbank of Monmouth County, the VNA of Central Jersey and the Monmouth County Red Cross.
“The current crisis not only places a heavy fiscal burden on thousands of families, but it also introduces unforeseen serious social and healthcare-related issues. We certainly cannot afford to ignore those concerns, so we have invited many state and private organizations willing to listen and help,” according to Assemblyman Declan O’Scanlon.
Assemblywoman Caroline Casagrande added to that notion, “We are committed to providing our fellow New Jerseyans with the best possible network of support throughout these tough times. If we can answer a resident’s question about his mortgage or assuage family’s concerns about legal assistance, then we have accomplished our mission by hosting this Fair.”
The Services Fair will be held at the Freehold Township Senior Center, located at 116 Jackson Mills Road, Freehold, from 11:00 A.M. until 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, April 25, 2009. All New Jersey residents are welcome to attend.
