Press confirmed it can't run my letter -- it has way too many letters on the subject and wants to stick with the locals.
So -- here was my letter to the Press that did not make the cut.
Blue Ribbon Fraud
Dear Editor:
The release of the report by the Blue Ribbon Panel on “Immigration” brings no surprises. The panel was specifically designed to be a white-wash. It was appointed with the sole purpose of reaching a political conclusion, and in so doing somehow manages to sully even further the reputation of a corrupt and ineffectual New Jersey State Government.
The preposterous finding that “immigrants” are a net positive to the budget of New Jersey should be the first indication that this Panel is a Blue Ribbon fraud. Illegal immigration is by every measure, and as evaluated by every reputable expert, an economic loss for the states that absorb low-wage workers who require schools, jails, police, healthcare, and a host of special, costly government services. California, is nearly bankrupt, and New Jersey is an constant state of financial crisis.
The law, abiding, tax-paying, legal citizens and legal immigrants of New Jersey deserve better than this open-borders, left-wing study designed to pave the way to citizenship for the hundreds of thousands of illegal aliens currently dragging down the standard of living in dozens of New Jersey communities.
The remaining taxpayers of New Jersey need to take action now, even if it means a continued mass exodus.

I take it as good news that there is so many responses to this "blue ribbon fraud."
I've said this before on this board, it makes absolutely no sense to endorse any sort of pro-illegal immigration policy in these economic times.
In fact, it seems that it is becoming more and more economically viable to simply round 'em up and send 'em back.

Yes, their new rule of 300 words or less really stinks. It's not worth writing a letter to them any more. Stick with the Transcript.
My last letter to the APP was cut up really bad.
