Lloyd and McDermott Streets??? I thought this was going to be closer to the Rug Mill. It may be a part of those enviornmetal ideas you posted. Get people to walk more and get exercise! On a serious note, I am not sure if I posted it, but I understand that a very large percent of the plots have been rented. I bet after the ribbon cutting, the rest will go very quickly.

I finally got my lazy butt down to the community garden to see what it looks like. ( taking pictures for the home pages theme "Spring in the Borough")
I have to start off as a bummer here. The first thing that jumped out at me is the chain link fence with barbed wire on top of it. The gate has a lock on it. Though I can understand and respect why, it just jumped out at me as strange that the community garden is keeping the community out.
The above bummer aside, I absolutely do not knock this project. The NPC is doing a bang up job. The garden has shown that a lot of positive energy has gone into it and I do look forward to visiting over the coming months to see how it progresses. I know it ill do well/

This was a delightful way to spend a Saturday afternoon! How wonderful that these Gardens are part of our community.... I was going through this thread and if you haven't yet, it is still possible to rent out plots. I understand there are a few left. This goes for anybody who might be thinking about it and haven't. I ran into one town resident who rented two plots. Some people are really into this great concept.

I was out on the bicycle today taking a tour of the borough. I stopped by the community garden to see how it was doing. For a first year project, it is doing very well.
By chance I ran into one of the NPC members who was tending her garden. She gave me a very nice tour of the place and I have to say I am impressed. Like I always say, meeting the people in our town is always worth the time.
