Admittedly, I have been detached from the "goings on" in town and this site for a few months.
Has there been any further develpment in regards to the revitalization plan for downtown that was presented
There were a few posts on this topic in the past, and I did not want to simply continue one of them. I believe the latest plan was shown at a Town Countil meeting back in November, then the Council adopted a resolution officially accepting the plan just before Christmas.
Is anyone aware of where the plan is now? Has there been any further discussion of it?

Andrew,
It is good to see you back! Your voice is always very welcome here.
As far as your question, there has been no new news about the down town redevelopement. It is a good question. SOmehting as vital as down town revitalization should always be on the front burner.
BTW, happy birthday, old man!

No reason to be concerned, Lisa...while I may not be in the best shape of my life, there are (very fortunately) no health concerns. Overall well being...let's just say I'm as well as anyone else nowadays...which in reality is not all that bad. Brian...my birthday is in June...you're slipping "old man" Back to the reason for the initial post... You're right, Brian, the revitalization of downtown was supposed to be a very hot issue several months back when it was first presented. My fear is that, as with so many other issues over the years, it was brought forth as a lead into the election cycle, in an effort to drum up support for the sitting council members, then put on the back burner once the election secured them of their seats for another term. I know...I know....same old Andrew...looking at the worst possible reasons for the actions of our elected leaders...but when you've lived in this town for over 30 years, and you've watched and learned and seen how things happen...it's not just some ridiculous ramblings by a rogue malcontent. As always, though...I hope to be proved wrong. I hope the issue of the revitalization of downtown suddenly appears again, gathers some steam, and maybe we start to see some real changes to our town. I think we can all agree that it would be a tremendous positive to Freehold Boro.

I think we can all agree that it would be a tremendous positive to Freehold Boro. Your concerns have never been wrong. We all want the same thing and that is to see our town reach its full potential. This is a good town, but we do have potential to be better. I doubt anyone would say different. The changes associated with revitalization will take time. But, the discussions from all who are involved with those efforts do need to be more public and frequent. AS far as the election issues, of course these things will pop up when there is a race. Each side wants to put out there what they have done, as well as what they want to do. The other side of this is, why have the Republicans been so quiet? Shouldn't they also be talking about down town revitalization now, instead of waiting for the election?
