Amazingly few people have commented on or off line that the II board is hidden. I hid the board from view from all but registered users who are logged on. I did so in the hopes that the worst of the issues surrounding II are behind us and that our town can and will be defined in a better way than what that issue has done to us. I always believed that topic needed to be here. It has influenced our town and hurt our reputation very badly. To not have the topic would be dishonest. To not have a board for it would cause the issue to pop up everywhere else. So, I ask the question of readers and participants- Should the II board be hidden? Deleted? |

There have been some good conversations about how the town has been handling the problem. I'm really surprised that some old members haven't signed on to take a look at what is being said about ...

Put it out in the open for all to see just like it used to be.
As far as the article is concerned. I believe the poll is off the mark. There is a much higher percentage of people who would not want Illegal Aliens to have any rights let alone more.

This is an issue thats going to become very important in the future and is already of great importance to this town. Despite my love for the little town I live in, this is one problem that completely disgusts me and has for a long time. Most of the people on this board pay taxes to keep this town going. I don't mind doing that with everything that I see that makes this town so much nicer everyday.
Immigration and the problems it's creating are not a pretty addition. After what someone just shared with me not to long ago with all the respect I have for my Police department I am now thinking of them as running scared from the people in this town that don't even pay taxes! I'm very angry about this in no uncertain terms and it's something EVERYONE needs to be made aware of. This is a major problem in my opinion and needs to be addressed! If not? this board is also running scared. Pushing it under the rug doesnt help matters

I absolutely agree with you. I've lived and known the immigrants that want to become citizens of this country. My husband happens to be one of those. He worked extremely hard to be here and to become an American, AND TO LEARN THE ENGLISH LANGUAGE! Sometimes I think he speaks it better then me. But there’s another group. A group that has no respect for this country its laws or its people. They come here to work then send their Tax free money home. They have absolutely no stake in this country and that’s exactly where the disrespect comes from. They actually know their stealing from the tax payers in this country, and they actually love and enjoy that fact. I’ve seen the difference up close and personal. And that in a nutshell is why I have a problem with illegals.
