How often do we see articles in the papers and discussions on this site appear and then have no finality in them? ( is that a word?) I figured it wouldn't be a bad idea to open this thread to ask those questions. We know of things happening, but what was the final outcome?
I invite anybody to post here and ask their own question-- "what happened to...."

The topic that got me thinking of this is the "Fund for an Open Society." I recently found some old files from that trip where several of us from FB went up to maple wood and met with FfOS. I found the old comments from all the attendees and most were very supportive of some sort of program like this. ( in hindsight, I do not support FfOS itself, but that is another topic)
Considering the support at the time, why has it never manifested itself? Or has it and it is not a well advertised issue? I know after the trip I had several residents ask me what was going on. I never did get an answer.
We do know that not long after the trip, the council and LLA went into super secret talks to make nice. Was FfOS a part of that? And if so, why were others left out? Those super secret talks appear to have produced results. As of recent I came across another example of the governing body tripping over itself trying to make nice with the LLA. Not necessarily a bad thing, but what has led to this?
Does anybody have answers that can be posted here?

There is also very little information about FfOS to justify something that costs a lot and may not have the desired results. |
