I don't know about Christie. Never mind his comical name (what were his parents smoking or snorting when they named him?) -- he's just so roly poly. What if he has the big one in office and is dead before his fat head bounces off the floor??? As it stands now, he physically epitomizes Pork. So, I have a grand PR/campaign idea: He should announce that he's going on nutrisystem during the campaign and continually assert, "I'm losing the pork on my body so I'll lose it in NJ! Vote for me!" And if any one of you thinks I'm serious, I feel sorry for you. He could have Marie Osmond do his campaign ads. Possibilities are endless! Although I know you were joking, he seriously does need to drop some weight if he wants to be a serious candidate. I know the elephant is the party symbol and all, but he should strive to weigh in less than an elephant. |

Chris Christie, the guy so nice, they named him twice.
Christie has the name recognition over Merkdt and people will get past Christie's girth (he's "big boned"). His reputation is good.
Merkdt is a pretty solid conservative candidate, from what I have seen. While I laud some of his positions, Merkdt will never make it. New Jersey just doesn't vote that way.
