This site requires that participants register and start an account. Any person who wishes to converse in a sane and civil manner is welcome to start an account. No person has every been denied participation due to their beliefs.
The reason for this requirement is to preserve site integrity. This is a well read site that reflects our town. Requiring registration enables the moderators to better guard against malicious behavior, multiple screen names, and other violations of the basic and fair site rules that have been put in place.
The advantage of having an account is that the account belongs to that person. This gives participants the ability to modify or delete posts. Administration does not have access to the private message feature or passwords of the account holder. The account becomes a reflection of the account holder and no other. Participants can also delete their account if they wish to do so.
Having an account also grants participants greater ease in access to admin or the moderators to express concerns, problems, or suggestions.

Signing upFirst, read the site rule. If you cannot abide by them, do not bother. freeholdvoice.proboards46.com/index.cgi?board=guidelinesforposts&action=display&thread=3171After reading the rules... At the top of the page, there is an icon for new users. Click on it and follow the instructions. It is mandatory that users provide an email address. That email address can be hidden from all participants except the admin. Admin of this site does not give out or use email addresses of participants unless permission is granted or in an extreme circumstance. Admin of this site also does not give out identities of site users. There is also a confirmation process. After sign up, the site will send a confirmation notice to your email. That should only take a second or two. In that notice, there will be a confirmation code. When the new user goes to use the account, the site will ask for that code. Cut and paste the code where it is required. Once completed, the account is active. If there is a problem with the confirmation process, it can be tried again. There have been instances where new accounts had to confirm a couple of times, though rarely. Users with Verizon emails have especially reported problems. At times, there is a feature enabled by admin requiring one final approval for the new account. This is a safeguard against malicious participants. New users must wait for admin to approve. That is usually done within the same day. Administration of the site will verify that the participant does not have another account and is not using a proxy site. Users with proxy sites will be denied. If any of the above fails the new participant, contact admin at brian@people-fb.com

This site generally attracts good people whoa re interested in legitimate participation. I had removed the admin approval feature because I considered it a nuisance for new accounts.
Today I had to re activate that feature. For those of you who are opening new accounts, I apologize for the inconvenience.
Approval of new and legitimate accounts usually takes less that a day.

I have to bump this thread as a reminder for new participants to read it. I noticed a couple of new people began an account, but did not activate it. Some people have (rarely) had problems with this process in the past. If you have problems with this process email me and I will work with you to get you on the site.
email is in the previous thread.

Just a bump and reminder of this thread for new participants. We may be having difficulty because of the confirmation process. That is something that I have no control over. One recent person I had communications with could not get through it and onto the site.
If intended users are having problems with the confirmation process, try it a couple of times and if that doesn't work, try a different email.
