PBA thanked for impressive Halloween event After attending the Freehold Borough Police Benevolent Association's Halloween fundraiser picnic on Oct. 11, I wanted to take a moment to publicly thank these men and women from our local police department for a job exceedingly well done. Great cause, great fun, great food, great time. My family and I enjoyed the opportunity to speak with the individuals behind the badges and to learn of all the worthy causes and community programs that the PBA sponsors throughout the year. It was a real eye-opener for us. Like most residents, I suspect, we didn't realize the true depth and breadth of ways in which our police officers serve our community, especially under the banner of the PBA which take place off the clock on the officers' own time. Our local police are always there for us when we need them and I encourage Freehold Borough residents to return the favor the next time the PBA throws a fundraiser. In these uncertain economic times, you couldn't ask for a better return on your investment. Jacqueline M. Condie Freehold newstranscript.gmnews.com/news/2008/1029/letters/024.html
