For the second straight year, New York's Town Hall will present a star-studded Fall benefit for the Bob Woodruff Foundation. And for the second straight year, Bruce Springsteen will perform at it. At the event, titled "Stand Up For Heroes" and scheduled for Nov. 5, Springsteen and wife Patti Scialfa will provide the musical entertainment. Comedians Ricky Gervais and John Pinette will also perform, and Regis Philbin will host. Whoopi Goldberg will participate as an auctioneer, during the evening's auction segment. The show is part of the New York Comedy Festival, and tickets are $250-$500. Call (201) 507-8900 or visit ticketmaster.com or nycomedyfestival.com. Woodruff is the ABC News anchorman who was injured on assignment in Iraq, in 2006. The foundation's goal is to raise awareness and money to assist members of the U.S. military injured while serving. Last year's benefit raised more than $2 million. Source: www.nj.com/entertainment/music/index.ssf/2008/10/springsteen_performs_for_the_b.html
