Last night I was in borough hall for a CIC meeting. I found a copy of the council meeting agenda. On it there was an item listed as E-verify pilot. There was nothing else. I will try to find out what this means and what our governing body is up to and post what I can. This topic did hit the site some time ago, here is the link. freeholdvoice.proboards46.com/index.cgi?board=unlawfull&action=display&thread=3657

I got a little bit of info on why this was on the council agenda.
There will be no pilot program in our town in the near future. This agenda item was a continuation of previous discussions in support for this program at higher levels of government. Representative Smith is a key figure in supporting this with Senator Mendez being a very big obstacle. Menendez is playing games with this issue.
The bottom line is that our governing body is supporting e-verify as they have with many other measures that will effect our town.
