newstranscript.gmnews.com/news/2008/0820/letters/023.htmlOfficers commended for youth police academy Iwould like to commend Freehold Borough police officers Keith Bailey, Ronnie Steppat, Sean Healey, Duane Stasse and Andrew DeMuth on providing a wonderful experience for the "recruits" who attended the 2008 Youth Police Academy. The planning and preparation for this six-day camp was impressive and thorough, right down to providing two uniform T-shirts so that the children would always have a clean one to wear. In six days, the children participated in presentations by several county and local service organizations, including SCART, ICE, FBI, DARE, DEA and the NJSP bomb squad. The participants were treated with an appropriate mix of firmness and tenderness, and it was obvious that the officers enjoyed working with the children. I am proud of my daughter for having challenged herself to successfully complete the academy, and I am grateful to the Freehold Borough police for providing this valuable experience for her.
