FREEHOLD: Borough property owners will get a break on their tax payments this month.
The interest-free grace period for property tax payments due on Aug. 1 has been extended to Aug. 31, due to the delay in sending out tax bills, according to Borough Administrator Joseph Bellina.
Property owners generally are not charged interest on their tax payments if they are paid within 10 days of when they were due, according to a resolution passed by the Borough Council authorizing the extended grace period.
