Jayne Carr just sent the following Press Release to me:
Freehold: The Center for Musical Legends
FREEHOLD BOROUGH, NJ – Yes, the tiny borough is the birthplace and childhood home for living legend songwriter Bruce Springsteen, but in summer 2008, it pays homage to the seminal band that started it all -- Freehold Borough’s storied downtown will host Beatlemania-LIVE!, a widely celebrated Beatle tribute band.
Beatlemania-LIVE! Will appear at the Hall of Records Parking Lot facing Main Street (Route 537) on Thursday, July 24th from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m.
Beatlemania-LIVE! Performs more than 30 Beatles songs during a two-hour show, which includes an intermission. The members take concert-goers through the formulative years of the band that brought rock and roll into a new, memorable era: the early “Ed Sullivan Show” years with matching suits and mop tops, then following an intermission, the more experimental Sergeant Pepper era, followed by the more psychedelic White Album and Abbey Road days.

This is tough, County Fair or Beatlemania??? ( Hummmm hassling with county fair parking vs walking over to hall of records, expensive Fair Food, vs Pizza @ a table outside at Goodfellas...easy walk back home....what to do, what to do?)

The real problem, the both Beatlemania and the fair will suffer, is the predictions of storms.
I, for one, like the fair. It comes but once a year. So, perhaps you pay extra, but it's almost like a special ocassion. Thursday is the big-top performers which is new. That is the night I plan on going.
As to these concerts, I was never into bringing beach chairs to a parking lot. But Hey!! what if we got a truckload of sand and had a Freehold beach party...
Of course, my opinion of a beach includes drinks in hurricane glasses... and that is a no-no in the boro.

OK, enough Monkee play. I am sure many noted a bit of a change tonight. The stage was not set up in its usual place, but up against the Hall of Records Annex. I liked it because we were not staring into the sun for the beginning of the show. I also think it allowed the audience to spread out better in front of the stage.
Speaking of the stage, the FCP is using a new one from previous years. The old one cost about 750 per night. I don't recall the exact figure, but the new one is much cheaper, saving the FCP a good sum of money.

What a fun concert! This one was pretty well attended, too. Everyone seemed to be having a great time.
We had just returned from the hospital where my Mother-in-law had surgery. We took my sister-in-law to dinner at El Meson and then walked over to the concert. The second part of it was just beginning. These guys were very good and their - "dead-on" performance - put a much needed smile on my wife's and her sister's faces after a long and difficult day at Robert Wood Johnson. Beatlemania was just what the Dr. ordered.
