With the Independance weekend upon us and a couple of great events happening in our town, I am inviting participants to submit photos of the the celebration tonight, at the race track, and especially photos of tomorrows reading of the Declaration.
Photos will be used for the home pages. If any participants choose to share, contact me and we will make the arrangements.
Having some good pics of Thomas Jefferson, our town historian, the church who is singing, or the people of our town would be great.
Have great weekend and be safe.

Lauren, these are terrific images! I love the closeups of the produce -- and the perspective of the Tony's Grill neon sign.
GREAT WORK! Oh, by the way (hint), the front of the Carnegie Library is just beautiful.

GREAT WORK! Oh, by the way (hint), the front of the Carnegie Library is just beautiful. I was trying to take a photo of the library, but being that it was from across the street (and with all the cars coming and going) they didn't turn out so well. I hope to take many more photos in the near future. I'll be sure to post them when I do!

Lauren: Thanks for posting these great pictures. We've done some work on the grand old Carnegie of late, including repair of the downspouts and work on the windows. We are probably going to replace the carpeting and or re-paint the interior very soon, with the surprise gift we recently received from Commerce Bank - $4000. vcr.csrwire.com/node/7038I serve as liaison to our library. I am always looking for suggestions on how to improve it. In fact, I have a board meeting there, tonight, at 7 pm. Anything anyone wishes to share?

Lauren,
Those are great pictures. I received your email and will certainly use some of them on the home pages. I should be doing some work on the home pages this coming Thursday or Friday. Several people have forwarded great pictures of the parade, the Reading of the Declaration, and the fourth of July celebration at the track. All will be added to the home site.
I also have some great pics of the farmers market, Lauren, and your photos will fit in very nicely.

(Thought I'd add this picture for good measure) One of the "healthiest" and yummiest salads you can get in Freehold. Behold - the Mexican Salad at Sweet Lew's:

Lauren Lauren, I love having different people donating the pictures. I am pleased with the photos from you and Jayne. The combination of both of you provided a very nice pictorial of the Farmers market. Fiber and Marc have send some great ones too and they will get worked into the mix as time goes on.

Great job with the beautiful Carnegie Library! and, I just adore that blue neon Freehold sign. It's so hard to get it without the invasive poles and wires. Excellent one!

Believe it or not, I was able to take the photo of the blue neon Freehold sign while holding three bags worth of purchases from the Farmer's Market. It was tricky - but turned out well, I think. I went a little overboard with the many photos of the library - but, it's like potato chips - you can't take just one! Thanks for letting me share my photos!! Lauren

Lauren: As usual...your photos are great. Here's a challenge for all...please post a photo or two that is equally impressive (as Lauren's), but more obscure in the eyes of the readers. Here's one that shares an annual Borough tradition that returns in just a few short months: Each year many of our neighbors partcipate in hosting "scarecrows" on their front lawns for all to be spooked by. The participants compete for ribbons. Not sure if this particular scarecrow was a winner, but the tradition of doing this every year certainly is. And...here is a real life "scarier" one: GUESS WHO?
