One time I was talking to another resident about down town and mentioned " At least we don't have a pawn shop to compliment the dollar store."
Well, I should have knocked on wood, we now have a shop that fits the bill right on Main Street. I decided to check it out and today was the first day they are open. Many of the shelves were bare , actually, some shelves were still being put up to hold the goods.
I have to admit, there was a nice variety of things in the store. I almost bought a couple of things. In a bitter twist, yesterday I bought a reciprocating saw. Had I waited one more day, I could have had a used one for a few dollars less. I also noticed musical instruments, which is what drew me into the store. I didn't see anything of interest to me, but I will be keeping an eye out.
I spoke with the guy behind the counter. This store is one of many owned by the same people, including one in Keyport. He also mentioned they don't like being called a pawn shop. What ever this store calls itself, it should be an interesting place to go into and shop--as long as they do not call themselves a pawn shop.
