I was just at borough hall and noticed a sign on the door announcing a special meeting of the Mayor and council for tomorrow at 5:30 PM
Wonder what that is about.

I just called borough hall to inquire about the meeting. I was told it is just routine actions and that the meeting was rescheduled after having been canceled on its regular night.
I asked if there was anything special or out of the ordinary going on and was told "no."

Nothing very out of the ordinary. What happened was that last Monday night's meeting was cancelled due anticipation on an especially light agenda. Then, a backlog of outstanding applications and appointments developed that everyone agreed to deal with at tomorrow night's special meeting. Looking over the agenda:
*Resolution Honoring Freehold Intermediate School's 50th Anniversary (Old News)
*Resolutions honoring 5 Eagle Scouts inclusing GEO's son (Old News & already presented)
Renewal of Alchoholic Beverage Licenses for 2008-2009
Accepting 2007 Fiscal Year Audit Report
Numerous Grant Requests
Resolution for 4th of July Fireworks
Resolution for Italian American Fair Fireworks
Re-appt. of Kerry Higgins as Asst Boro Prosecutor.
Two Planning Board Appts.
Three Personnel Actions - Fire Dept Appts (Bldg Maint)
Numerous Taxi Cab Divers Licenses. (lots of turnover in that job).
Approval of Bills.
I will not be in attendance for the meeting. We're heading to Montreal, Quebec for a short vacation earlier in the day.
