I was going to shut up on this one, but, since I have a big mouth I will chime in here.

Before I begin, allow me to put a bit of a disclaimer here. I will repeat things I have written before. That is necessary so that certain yo-yo's do not pull my words out of context again.

If the rumor of Geo is true, It is great that he is learning a new language. I have opined in the past that I do admire people who are multi/lingual.

This reminds me of thread pertaining to Principal Jarebek. In his case it is also great that he would learn a second language. On that thread I was certainly acidic. I got a few people ticked at me on that one!

The point I will make in the case of both Jarebek and Geo, is that I will be far more impressed when they aggressively encourage the local immigrant population to learn American English. That is one of the key things in making any real progress in this town. I say this not against other languages or the people who speak them, but in favor of finding more unity in our town. That begins with being able to speak to one another. Any immigrant who does not learn English, and the people who support them and discourage it, are doing themselves a real disservice. It is in the best interest of all immigrants that they learn English.

So I ask to Geo, Jarebek and other people in important positions, when will you take things in the right direction and start teaching English?

And good luck with your Spanish! That is a good thing.
