"If this is what this committee is about (assimilation a voting block), we should ALL be very disappointed."[/i] Payback's a what??? www.latinoleadershipalliance.com/CorzinePressReleaseDraftFinal.pdfLATINO LEADERSHIP ALLIANCE POLITICAL ACTION COMMITTEE FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Contact: Frank Freyre: 908-xxx-xxxx Martin Perez: 732-xxx-xxxx The Latino Leadership Alliance Political Action Committee (LLA-PAC) today announced their decision to endorse United States Senator Jon S. Corzine for Governor. The Alliance, an umbrella organization comprised more than 200 Latino organizations representing all sectors of the Latino community. “Jon Corzine has earned the trust of our Community. We are confident that he is committed to work towards building a better future for the Latino children, our immigrant population, the elderly and all of their families”, said LLA-PAC President Martin Perez, Esq. “Senator Corzine is committed to restore education reform to the right track and to improve all schools. He understands that the constitutional promise to a thorough and efficient education cannot remain as a promise but it must be realized and delivered to our children if we want to guarantee the future of our state”, said Perez. Perez added: “Corzine has a plan to provide accessible and affordable health care, which will make coverage possible for 776,000 uninsured individuals, including many Latino immigrant families. He is sensitive to the needs of the Latino business community. One of his top priorities is the security of our state and he understands the contribution of our Latino law enforcement professionals to that vital task. His financial experience and CEO credentials are what New Jersey needs to end our fiscal crisis and root out waste and corruption.” Today’s historic event marks the first time the Latino Leadership Alliance has publicly endorsed a candidate for governor in New Jersey. In the 2001, LLA-PAC decided not to endorse either candidate seeking the office.

WOW! I often wondered where the LLA sat politically. Now we know, they are socialists. That means they support more government hand outs and freebies for the purpose of getting votes. That means they believe in a nanny state. I will give them credit, they got their boy into office. Good for them, bad for everyone else. The sad part, Joisy voters will be dumb enough to put Corzine back in office. The sadder part, the Republicans will probably continue their trend of giving us mediocre candidates.
Did I get a dig into everyone with that? ;D

I'm actually surprised they're endorsing Corzine. I would consider the LLA to be more liberal.
(Corzine is FAR from socialist...)
And yes, this is very strange. I wonder how much Corzine knows about this press release though. For all he knows, Frank and Martin could have very well just typed that up and sent it to the media without Corzine even knowing about it. Although if he did/does, it wouldn't surprise me.

TRENTON – Governor Jon S. Corzine today reaffirmed his campaign promise of creating and preserving 100,000 affordable housing units in New Jersey in the next 10 years.
“Without access to safe, sound shelter, the opportunity for a better, more secure future becomes no more than a pipe dream,” said Corzine at a Housing and Community Development Network of New Jersey meeting in Trenton. “Our people deserve more and, working together, we’re going to make 100,000 units of affordable housing a reality in New Jersey.”How about, we’re going to create 100,000 well paying jobs, incentives for High Education and business development to make living afordbly in New Jersey a reality.”There is even more information out there that underscores why this Governor is driven to have this state incur an incredible increase in debt on the backs of the Middle class Joe's, like you and I. Cheap housing is not the answer. Education and empowering a workforce to earn more, save more and invest more is critical. Building bridges for INDUSTRY to develop more and investment more in this state is another critical action that has not been entertained, while corporation are moving to PA, CT and De NJ is falling behind FAST! IMO If the lower end of the employment market was not flooded with cheap Illegal Undocumented Contraban Labor (As I Smile up at Ike), US Citizen Labor living at the Lower income scale would have the opportunity to earn a higher income, and these Americans would be in a better position to AFFORD current housing stock! Thus this Gov would not need to drive us all into further debt for "Affordable Housing" we would no need..IMO

I AM SO SICK OF ILLEGAL ALIENS ENTERING THIS COUNTRY WITH A SENSE OF ENTITLEMENT, NEWSFLASH -----IT IS A PRIVILEGE TO LEGALLY IMMIGRATE TO THE U.S., NOT THEIR RIGHT AS THEY AND THEIR ILLEGAL ALIEN ADVOCATES STRONGLY FEEL. I HAVE A QUESTION, WHY IS IT HISPANICS MAKE PAINS IN THE ASSES OF THEMSELVES AND WE HAVE THE MOST TROUBLE WITH. OTHER ILLEGAL ENTRANTS, RUSSIAN, ITALIAN, INDIAN,ETC DO NOT MAKE A MESS OF OUR ROADWAYS CONGREGATING TO MAKE THEIR TAX FREE MONEY, MAKE DEMANDS OF OUR GOVT, HAVE ADVOCATES SCREAMING FOR THEIR "RIGHTS" WHY IS THAT.I JUST PAID MY TAXES THIS WEEKEND, THESE SCUM SUCKERS MAKE OVER 100 A DAY AND DONT PAY A DIME IN TAXES, WHEN THEY GET HURT OR INJURED ON THE JOB THEY HEAD TO THE NEAREST ER AND THATS RIGHT FOLKS WE PAY. THEY COME HERE, DROP AN ILLEGAL ANCHOR BABY AS ITS CALLED, AND RIGHT AGAIN, WE PAY AND THE KID IS LEGAL AND JUAN AND MARIA ARE NOW GOING TO GET TO STAY HERE. WHY DO I HAVE TO PRESS 1 FOR MY OWN COUNTRY'S LANGUAGE WHEN I CALL AND LISTEN TO AUTOMATED RECORDINGS. WHY IS IT THAT HISPANICS CONTINUALLY HARRAS THE WOMEN OUTSIDE OF THE 7 ll's, URINATE IN PUBLIC AND BULLY OUR POLITICIANS TO VOTE THEIR WAY IN OUR OUR COURTS,LEGISL., ETC ITS BECAUSE OUR IDIOT POLITICIANS PROSTITUTE THEMSELVES FOR THE HISPANIC VOTE. WHAT A SAD STATE WE ARE IN. AND THE BIGGEST IDIOT OF ALL WHO DOES NOTHING TO ADDRESSS THE ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION SITUATION SITS HIS STUPID ASS IN WASHINGTON. THE WORST WE HAVE EVER SEEN. I FEAR MY KIDS FUTURE. GOING TO COLLEGE AND CANNOT GET THE IN STATE TUITIION RATE IF THEY CHOOSE A COLLEGE OUT OF STATE. HOWEVER AN ILLEGAL CAN PARK HIS ILLEGAL ASS IN ANY STATE AND IS GIVEN THE RATE FOR THE STATE HE HAS ILLEGALLY ENTERED. ALL TRUE AND DISGUSTING.AND THEY COME OUT OF THE WOODWORK--THEY MEANING HISPANIC GROUPS TO GRANT SCHOLARSHIPS, ETC. SO FOLKS FEAR FOR YOUR KIDS FUTURE. IT IS LOOKING BLEAK AT BEST AND THEY TRULY ARE TAKING OVER AND WE HAVE NO SAY WITH THE JERKS WE HAVE ELECTED.

"Shanda Lear" -- you can come down off your ceiling high. There's medication for that. Relax Calliope, that post is simply the sign of another person who will be putting up a for sale sign. This is what happens to sanctuary cities, like Freehold.

That committee STILL cries out for other needed dimensions that may NOW have to FORCE, not just plainly offer, a balance of ideas for New Jerseyans.
But, why waste our energy, here? The panel is by invitation only. So, if it is truly about political paybacks, the "cherry picking" of members will insure that no one with alternative views will set foot anywhere near these meetings.
That would be too bad. I think that some social bridges can be built, but not without - FIRST - strengthening our economic and legal infrastructure. If such foundational issues are not considered, the onesidedness of the panel will certainly doom its key goals and its credibility. And, the panel will not earn its "blue ribbon." Perhaps, not even one for honorable mention!
