Some highlights.
1. proclamation from the Mayor declaring April Alcohol awareness month.
2. Second reading of ordinance establishing fees for civil unions and weddings. {one hundred and twenty five dollars}
3. Captain Mitchell E. Roth has been appointed in charge of the police department.
The public portion was the interesting as usual. Jim Keelan, board president of the BOE, gave the council, Mayor and police department thanks for a job well done at the town hall meeting. Jim mentioned that our meeting was far more packed than other ones the Trenton gang had gone to. Jim mentioned that our town did a fantastic job of coming together that night.
On that same note, both Jim and Councilwoman Shutzer talked about the trip to Trenton. Our residents, wearing yellow shirts, did stand out and received a great deal of notice.
And one last tid bit. Mayor Wilson announced that he, Councilman Kane and Councilman Sims are all running for re-election in November.
