I'm looking for two additional volunteers to accompany our group up to Maplewood NJ on Monday, February 26th. We have a great list of people going, but another one or two residents/businesspeople would make a nice addition. I'd like to see people connected with our downtown business community. I'm going to make some phone calls, but here is your chance to offer your input.
Please email me directly if you are interested or want to recommend others. stffgpr2003@yahoo.com.

Today was the day of the Maplewood visit. I will not go into the greatest of details right now, but it was a good trip and in my opinion worth it.
We met with town officials from Maple wood and South orange. There was another group called the "Fund for an Open Society."
I am glad that I went to this meeting with an open mind. The FOS really threw out some good points to ponder. There are a great many questions that FB has to ask itself that will challenge us all. And there is no doubt in my mind that we have some work cut out for us.
Marc deserves some credit for finding this initiative and having the foresight to at least entertain what we heard today.

Brian:
Thank you. I, too, enjoyed the visit and learned alot. For those waiting for details of the meeting from me, I elect to leave the commenting to others attending. I'm more interested in hearing what others have to say.
In fact, I just sent each participant a Google collaborative document to work on, simultaneously. It will be edited by all and submitted to the Mayor and Council with it's overall impressions and recommendations.
7 of us took the day off from work to attend this meeting. The town, especially, needs to show gratitude to the 6 who accompanied me and the folks we met.
