FREEHOLD -- A protest rally concerning allegations of police brutality has been scheduled for 1 p.m. Saturday. The rally is expected to begin near the Monmouth County Sheriff's Office, 50 East Main St. Marchers will then proceed to the Police Department, located at 36 Jackson St. The rally comes after a Jan. 29 incident in which a Freehold Township woman, Migdalia Irizzary, alleges that an officer twisted her arm behind her and punched her 15-year-old son in the mouth during a motor vehicle stop. Police have said the boy hit one officer and that another injured his hand and shoulder trying to subdue him. Irizzary was charged with obstructing the administration of law and resisting arrest. Her son was charged on a juvenile complaint with third-degree aggravated assault and resisting arrest.
