To All Freehold Dudes and Dudettes:
After many weeks in exile I am returning to the message board that I love more than life itself.
These are tough times for the board I founded along with Councilman Levine dude many years ago.
We have been abandoned by our cronies at Borough Hall. They now refuse our affection.
They have withdrawn their love deciding now to sleep with Freydude and the hated LLA.
But Casual will never abandon you despite the fact that Brian sent me into unjustified exile for two weeks.
We are going through some dark days here. First, there was the Stalinist purge of Myself, Zeus, Carlos and Freehold Resident. Now, there is the withdrawal of key posters that made us great -- Calliope, Councilman Levine dude and others.
Can the People board be saved? Are we totally and completely irrelevant? Will the absurdity of our arguments derail this great message board?
Are we lunatics and losers? The answer is, I believe, "No"
I am with you all to the bitter, bitter end. I will not question the Socrates from the foothills of Virginia. Brian Dude is alright by me. Novillero is the Fado King -- I his compliant student.
Together we will rebuild this crumbling and irrelevant message board and make it great again.
The Prodigal Son has returned...
Casually Home Again

Casual:
Welcome back from the gulag!
Also -- Casual -- I must take issue again with the notion of a purge. Posters willing to abide by the guidelines are welcome to register -- as you did.

Casual, your slow and easy temperment could not have come at a better time...welcome back.
One quick note, though, dude...why use such strong words when you refer to the "hated LLA"? Hated?? I can, of course, speak only for myself, but "hated"...no. For myself, I would call it a general mis-trust of such a group. I can't trust a group who claims to be for helping the poor and helpless illegal immigrants, but does nothing to actually lift those people up and out of the hole they are in.

Casual, I am disappointed in you. Last night I saw Mariza at Carnegie Hall; tonight she is in Long Branch. And what do I see? You posting here. You could have traveled to Portugal without leaving the country.
You missed a great performance and could have learned a lot about fado. (For the majority who never heard of "fado," it is soulful portuguese folk music. "Fado" literally means fate).

Novillero Dude: I wish you would post more information about the Fado stars -- I did not know much about the music until I went to Portugal. A friend of mine mentioned Cristina Brianca ( ) -- How does she compare with Mariza? If you could recommend two or three CDS to purchase to really get into the music which might you suggest? Casually FADO

Christina Branco, Madredeus, DulcePontes are some of the recent "fado" singers/groups. But they are not really "fado" but rather fado-esque. Fado is simple folk music, 2 acoustic guitars and some sad, sad songs. If you want to hear traditional fado, stick with Mariza or, the queen of fado, Amalia Rodrigues.

Novillero Dude:
So what CDs would you purchase if you were me? I discovered the music in the Fado bars in Portugal.
I also thought your response on the schools issue provided a lot of good information and counter points to what I wrote.
I think too many people here worry whether people agree with them.
