Before I begin, let me make clear, I know every town has a drug problem. Some would be surprised at the extent of it in places like Millstone and Allentown.
But not every town has it right out in the streets. Today I was driving around town with a friend. We were on Bond, I believe. Right in front of us a drug dealer, on a bike, stopped in the middle of the road to sell drugs to a person in a car. In broad daylight they thought nothing of stopping traffic to conduct theri transaction right out in the open. We watched the transaction clear as day. Money for pot. It was brazen.
My friend and I were in the area for a while when we found the driver of the car pulled over about one block away getting ready to do his drugs.
Every town has it's problems, but, why does ours have to be in the middle of the street in broad day light?

In case you did not know, the FB PD considers most of that section of town a "known drug area."

Brian...I hope that as a responsible citizen of the Boro, you took down the license plate number of the automobile, and a description of the guy on the bike, and reported it to the Boro Police Department.
Like they say in New York City...if you see something, say something.

Like they say in New York City...if you see something, say something. Good point. I will be very honest, I did have my cell phone in my hand and considered calling the police. I hesitated due to experiences I have had with other departments. In hindsight, I was wrong to do so. Last night after the council meeting, I caught up with Chief Roth and reported this and discussed it with him. The Chief said I absolutely should have called and they would have sent someone out in a blink. He continued to tell me that the Borough is very aggressively dealing with these issues. Besides the fact that the PD is very in touch with other police agencies, we have apparently had a new program in place since February dealing with exactly what I had witnessed. He told me the name of it, but I forget what it was. The Chief was grinning when he talked about this program due to the success it has enjoyed. The Chief and I also discussed community outreach and education, two things I support one hundred percent. Specific was the topic of the bike safety program. There has been nothing in the papers about it, but this past Saturday had a very nice turn out, according to the Chief. He said there were about 50 kids and several adults, which IMO, is pretty good.

The real question is, what were you really doing on Bond Street???
Considering that there is a question of gangs in the Boro, I would suspect Bond and it's neighboring streets to be included in that "turf."
