Submitted to local papers...thought you might want to get a sneak peak.
As a young entrepreneur and gay man who was recently featured on the front page of the Asbury Park Press’ business section [Sept. 5, 2007], I would like to express a heartfelt thank you to all involved at the newspaper who took an interest in shedding a positive light on what grapeVine Public Relations stands for.
For those who missed the article, grapeVine Public Relations is a firm dedicated to publicizing the efforts of those celebrities, organizations, businesses and individuals related to the LGBT (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender) and LGBT-friendly communities.
In addition to focusing on public relations, grapeVine also looks to raise awareness of various causes that affect both the LGBT community as well as issues local to the area. We are actively looking to get involved in the community in many ways.
I originally started grapeVine, along with my business partner Stephen J. Lucin, because I felt that the way to help equalize treatment of gay and lesbian people throughout the nation was to bring them more into the mainstream media, which would help to define our culture and increase acceptance for our community.
As a lifelong resident of Freehold Borough, and new business owner who is currently looking to move into a downtown storefront office, I have always found the town to be a hidden treasure that is inclusive, accepting and welcoming of all, including the gay community.
Freehold has a warm and inviting small-town feel, a bustling and vibrant downtown offering some of the best restaurants and salons in the area, large decorated Victorian homes, an open government with many opportunities to volunteer and get involved, and a mass-transportation hub with bus service and the soon-to-arrive MOM rail line for those business professionals looking to commute to and from Manhattan and Philadelphia.
I applaud both the Asbury Park Press as well as Freehold Borough for helping to increase acceptance and tolerance of the LGBT community and embracing us all with equal treatment and never anything less. Thank you.
