I think this post should be deleted due to its name-calling of the posters to this board. any speaking of knowing nothing. The person who posted the message put his name where the subject should be and the subject where his name should be. someone sure doesn't know too much... I am deleting this thread -- but not for the reasons indicated.

RK, why not leave it so everyone who comes here to read this blog can see the caliber of membership this board prides itself on having. If you are referring to the Name/Subject mix-up, don't think that's a good reason to delete the thread. It wasn’t intentional. …and if you are acting as a request from another blogger, same. Actually -- you and the original poster the "new poster" are posting from the same location. So -- this thread is not a reflection on the membership -- it is a reflection on you.

For whatever it is worth... Would like the webmasters to consider the following: 1. Not ban anyone. 2. Let people post whatever they want. They are the ones who need to be responsible for their posts - not the webmasters. 3. Eliminate the guest account. 4. Have people post under their real name. I think this would solve many of the problems with people posting under 2 different names, people hiding as a guest, etc. Geo, You have been too quiet! I have often considered many of your suggestions. I will ask your opinion. If we followed through with your recomendations, do you think we would have more or less people participating? I know the nonsense would stop.

Congratulate your son, Michael, on his Eagle Scout project. I know that is a real accomplishment.
Either way, it appears you have your plate full. I hope all else is well.

I will keep your point in mind. And you may be right. Ultimately my goal has been to provide a community site for residents from all walks of life. I would like to see the nonsense stop on it's own. I can understand why some of even our registered users get quiet when things get out of hand. Recently Rich and I have been more aggressive in directing things in a bit more civil fashion. The reality is that only a couple of people cause problems. The other part of the equation is for others to not take the bait.
When I restarted this site, have many topics was very important to me. Again, that goes to the desire of having a good informational board where all things Freehold can be discussed. All in all, I think people like it. I do see interest in all the forums here. Being FB, we had to have a board for illegal immigration. The topic would just infect all others if we did not. There is a reason it is at the bottom. There is much, much more to our town than that topic. At times I tire if it and do not engage in those discussions.
And I do not call this my site, I like to believe it belongs to everyone in our town. Hence, the open forum and the fact that I do appreciate and often respond to suggestions from participants.

George:
I am very sorry about your recent losses and family struggles. You have probably learned what I have also learned having to contend with my own personal and family struggles. "Whatever doesn't kill you makes you stronger."
You and I serve together on the Planning Board (which may meet again - someday [when was our last meeting? May or June?] LOL!!! In that time, I have observed your great judgment and steadiness. This is to be admired.
I was also honored to have you represent our town at the Fund for an Open Society meeting in Maplewood. You conducted yourself in a very practical and impressive manner.
Having you post on this board should be considered an honor and a great benefit. Your record of community service (Little League, Planning Board, etc) is stellar and you bring so much to the table - a good influence and a good sounding board.
If this site is ever to attain it's fullest potential and serve as a serious channel of productive influence in Freehold Borough, it will have to attract many more "leaders" like yourself. Those with the best interests of Freehold Borough, at heart. It must also find a way to take the steps that you have carefully laid out to do away with the anonymity of posters and rid itself of the "cloak and dagger" reputation it has deservedly earned in town.
I salute those of us who post with our names and criticize those, who choose not to. We share the trait of courage among many cowards that are afraid to defend their own words on this board. You post as GEO, but we all know who you are, because you have told us in the past.
You've posted here before, but coming back from your tough times you serve an even bigger:
Marc

I understand the argument of why one would not on a site like this -- given the tactics of the open borders' lobby and their friends. My fear is that great input might be lost -- or that conversely, the open borders lobby will not post, and instead harvest infor and target posters. BTW -- I am still waiting for the LLA to approve my application to post on its site.

Good to have you. I think that most people will have forgotten what LS stands for.
On a similar issue, I am very seriously considering only allowing registered users to post on the site. There has been too much nonsense and I like to believe that Rich and I have better things to do than babysit those who do not play nice.
Now, if we can get Cheryl, unwelcome guest, and a couple of others to join, that would be great.
