This has definitely been the summer of my discontent -- why else would I go so many months without writing to the knuckleheads here at the PEOPLE board? Some of you were probably worried that I was gone for good -- but as a founding member of the PEOPLE Board I will never abandon the borough I love. Where to begin? Well I got engaged -- and then my girlfriend-fiancee decides she is going to accept a job offer in Boulder, Colorado. "But wait a minute honey I don't want to move to Colorado" "Sweetheart this is the opportunity of a lifetime." Long story short -- She decides to take the JOB My engagement ring and my fiancee are now Rocky Mountain High. But it gets worse -- she was paying 50 percent of the rent. The lease expires Casual has no place to go and the thought of moving back with dad -- well the truth is dad would prefer I didn't. So I pack up my belongings and one of my friends -- lets me leave my stuff in his basement. So with no money and few prospects and about a month after my 26th birthday I decide to go and travel through Portugal and Spain. I set out with revenge in my heart figuring how many women can I bed in continental Europe. They thought my American accent was cute (but that is another story). Drunk out of my mind in a Spanish Flamenco bar in Seville and chatting it up with several good looking girls from Andalucia it occurs to me -- I must return to Freehold and save the borough I love. I must save the PEOPLE board which has drifted into a mindless existential crisis of negativity. Man the people on this board see a sunny day and think how can they mess it up for everyone else. Doom and gloom. Borough officials do not want to be contaminated with the negativity virus. This board can be great. We can make a difference, but not with frowns on our faces. Take the revolver out of your mouth. The nefarious LLA has won. You used to pick fights with them and now all you do is fight among yourselves. Mayor-for-life Wilson finally finds a tenant for the American Hotel and all you can do is complain about some restaurant that went out of business. STOP IT! Get a grip. We can get through this crisis together as one big brown, black, yellow, gay and white family. Mexicans and Jews -- Gays and Straights -- living, learning and loving here in Freehold Borough. Is it only a dream? Casually Back from the Brink

Casual, though your post is immediately after mine, I am fully confident that it is not I to whom you refer with the phrase "complaining about a restaurant going out of business." I am indeed saddened and wistful about Lorenzo's, considering the number of times we enjoyed ourselves there and held many a family function for various milestones. Perfectly appropriate reaction to something being gone, that held so many memories.
If you meant otherwise, well, Brian, please tell me help is on the way if I can't even post an observation without this type of retort. I hadn't posted in months, and this is what happens to my simple comment, which again finished with nothing but good wishes for the Borough. Perhaps I'll reconsider contributing any input.

Phyllis Don't worry, Phyllis, Casual Reader does not appear to be getting any digs into what you have written. He more of an entertainer than anything else. He has rarely added any value to the site other than that. His post is feeding off of a number of things that were written all over the site. It is his usual baiting and turning things around. He is actually quite good at it. The best thing to do is not even engage when you see anyone doing that. Unfortunately, we have a few participants who take things out of context and go way off topic. That last thing you, or anyone else should do, Phyllis, is allow yourself to be silenced. It is good to hear that you are visiting. I know you have genuine concern for the town, unlike certain baiters we know.

And her new lovers are Mexican Apparently her new casual Mexican lover dude is doing the job that Casual couldn’t do That is good, Berg. On a more serious note, I think that I have the real casual pegged. He is not what he seems. He is........ One of Mayor Wilson's minions! Yes! That is it. I know that the town government hates this site. Only one, Marc LeVine, has had the courage to come here and face all of us evil PEOPLE people. We all know that the concerns on this site are so unjust and wrong headed! CR does a wonderful job of baiting, bringing things down, putting words into people's mouths and providing us all with hours of mindless entertainment. I guess he needs something to do while his girl is busy with her new lovers. ( for the record, I know I am lowering myself on this thread. If RK were to delete me, that would be sooooo understandable. Even admin needs to get a little goofy once in a while)

if anyone has been to Seville, they know you would probably not, as a young man looking to bed young Sevillian women, go to a flamenco "bar." It's really a misnomer. Flamenco is for tourists and you sure wouldn't meet any young Sevillians there. At flamenco clubs, you pay for a show, then leave to make room for the next show. It's not the sort of situation where you can sit down and chat over the flamenco guitars, singing and dancing. The clubs are typically small and lit for the audience to view the entertainment, not lit for the singles scene. And you certainly wouldn't be going to them to get drunk.
If you want to meet young women and drink at a bar, you'd go to a tapas bar, then later in the night/morning go to a disco.
Where else didn't you go in Portugal and Spain?

And her new lovers are Mexican Apparently her new casual Mexican lover dude is doing the job that Casual couldn’t do "she has a new casual lover in Colorado"Who said anything about a " lover dude "? I would be almost certain that the new Colorado Lover is a Dudette. My keen intuition lets me that after casual gets thought with yha, you swear off the male gender...too casual to carry that weight. Must have been that Rocky mountain High...(Fiber picks up his 12 string git'picker) SHe was born in the summer of her 27th year Comin home to a place shed never been before SHe left yesterday behind her, you might say she was born again You might say she found a key for every door
When she first came to the mountains her life was far away On the road and hangin by a song But the strings already broken and she doesnt really care It keeps changin fast and it dont last for long
But the colorado rocky mountain high Ive seen it rainin fire in the sky The shadow from the starlight is softer than a lullabye Rocky mountain high (high colorado) rocky mountain high (high colorado)I can smell the Aspin and Ponderosa Pine, can you? C'est la vie! Adieu

Hummmmmmm, Maybe so, but I will hold onto my intuitive inclination as a suspected outcome! But is Colorado far enough than? She would need to seek refuge in Bandar Seri Begawan (the capital of Brunei)

In fact, as rumor has it, Casual is gay and only stayed with her as a cover up. Sorry Fiber, you just have to accept you’re wrong and move on as Casuals dudette did.

Don’t get any Ideas FR, I don’t like you like that.
